PERFORMANCE at the MMPM

This performance took place in Mainz - Germany, on May 5th 2005. It is done at the opening day of the 18th Mainzer Minipresse - Messe, the international event where the small press and object book producers come together every two years. This in the historic city of Mainz, where Gutenberg has his roots and printed for the first time.

Because we know some of the people that also frequently come there we did this special performance. It is funny to see how people look when they see the result of a photo even before it is taken. On the photos you always see Fluxus Heidelberg: Litsa Spathi and Ruud Janssen (Greece/Netherlands), and also: Reed Altemus (USA), Luc Fierens (Belgium), Francis van Maele (Ireland) and Peter Kuestermann (Germany).

  1. Ask someone to stand beside you.

  2. Take a digital camera and hold it in front of you and the invited person.

  3. Look together at the display of the camera to see how the photo that is about to be taken will look like.

  4. Take the photo when everybody is satisfied with the result.

  5. Publish the photos on the Internet.
